Sights and Sounds at the Sinukwan Festival

The highlight of the annual Sinukwan festival in Pampanga is the grand parade that features street dancers from all over the province, garbed in colorful costumes, moving to the rhythm of the ubiquitous kapampangan folk song "Atin cu pung singsing".

This year there were 16 participating groups in the street dance competition. for the grade school category, the municipality of magalang bagged the first place in the free interpretation competition while Anderson Elementary School from Arayat won the top prize in the street dancing competition. In the high school and college level, the University of the Assumption from the City of San Fernando got the top honors in the street dance contest while the city of San Fernando representative Del Pilar Integrated School bagged first place in the free interpretation competition.

Now on its twelfth year, Sinukwan festival is at the helm of cultural revivalism in the kapampangan region by celebrating kapampangan artistry and creativity through a series of festive events that are must-sees for kapampangans from all walks of life.
